Overview

The largest conference in Europe dedicated to the evaluation of policies in the field of research, technology and innovation policy will gather academics, evaluators, research managers, authorities and RTI policy makers to debate challenging developments in RTI policy and their effects on evaluation theory and practice.

The conference addresses new actor settings, approaches and themes in RTI policy evaluation. Thus, the term OPEN EVALUATION signals openness towards new values, new stakeholders and beneficiaries and new approaches and themes in RTI policies and RTI evaluations.

The conference invites submissions in six focal thematic areas. Papers and posters beyond these focal areas are welcomed too.

 

THEMES

1) Changing the role of evaluation of RTI policy to incorporate new values, RRI and new forms of science

2) New evaluation approaches in data, methods, indicators and their interpretation

3) RTI policy evaluation in the policy-making process

4) Social innovation, societal impact, societal challenges

5) Evaluation approaches for policies and programmes in social sciences and humanities (SSH)

6) Challenges and new approaches to evaluate European RTI policies and programmes


Selected papers will be clustered in sessions and panels. In addition a poster session is planed and special sessions may complement the programme. If you are just interessted in our poster session please submit an extended abstract as well as specify that you are just interessted in the poster session.

Deadline for extended abstracts (of 3 to 5 pages including references): 8 May, 2016

Confirmation acceptance: 30 June, 2016

Revised extended abstracts for booklet of abstracts: 2 October, 2016

TAVEL GRANTS FOR YOUNG RESEARCHERS

FWF, the Austrian Science Fund, provides a grant to this conference, which will be used to support the participation of young researchers. Young researchers (up to 35 years), whose extended abstracts or poster presentations will be selected by the Scientific Committee, can send an eMail to the registration manager (office@fteval.at) requesting for a grant to cover parts of their travel and registration costs until 18 July 18 2016. Depending on the number of requests the organisers intend to waive the registration fee and to subsidy the accommodation costs.

PUBLICATION POLICY

By submitting your paper you agree that all accepted extended abstracts will be published in a booklet (special issue of the fteval Journal for Research and Technology Policy Evaluation) and on this web-page.
